Very often a low nitrification is caused by a lack of oxygen in the aeration tank. The existing system may not be able to cope with the dose of ammonium entering the aeration tank.
In this case, CAVITECH is an excellent solution as additional aeration equipment.
The CAVITECH module can be installed over an existing system without stopping the structure. We place the module directly into the water bubbling during the cleaning process.
There is no need to stop and drain.

How We Do It

CAVITATION HOMOGENIZER

Homogenization based on steam cavitation leads to the formation of a nutrient substrate from homogenized sludge with a high content of easily oxidized organic matter. This substrate stimulates the decomposition of nitrates to molecular nitrogen under the action of denitrifying bacteria.

MAIN CONDITION FOR DENITRIFICATION

Denitrification is ineffective due to the low content of easily oxidized organic matter in the wastewater. Especially if the denitrification zone is located after the nitrification zone, and most of the organic matter has already been absorbed. Then it makes sense to homogenize excess sludge, which is a by-product and is discharged outside the structure.

Testing the efficiency of homogenization of excess sludge showed an increase in dissolved COD from 251 mg/l to 1319 mg/l

INTENSIFICATION OF THE PROCESS
Increasing the energy efficiency of aeration with CAVITECH means an increase in oxygen concentration for the same energy input.
This gives you the following advantages:
1) a guarantee of removal of ammonia nitrogen
2) the ability to increase the dose of activated sludge
4-6 g/l is enough for intensification
In such cases, we advise aiming for a free suspended sludge dose of 4-6 g/l.
This intensifies the process, but does not lead to the removal of activated sludge from the secondary settling tank
